Slip Dressing Soiree

1

Just in time for summer and my trip home and my baby brother’s birthday week, came in a slip dress I cannot sleep in. I mean I could but why would I when I can buzz around town feeling like a breath of fresh air in this easy breezy piece of clothing. No wonder all my divas are terming this a piece of must have item for this coming summer. If you have not already do invest in one, because there will be at least 10 ways to layer it for the days to come ahead.

I wanted to pair it with a pair of slip ons or slides but my bank balance did not agree and I settled for the next best option. This pair of strappiness was again a monsoon buy but I wear it all year round. The fedora hat I am donning is of a friend of mine and it completed this look to the T. This shoot made me feel like I was vacationing in some far away green country. (This reminds me I should go for one such break!)

If you are a lover of light and easy dressing, you must opt for a slip dress in a neutral or jewel tone and layer it however you like. You can try it over a basic tee, or under a light jacket; you can even wear a button down under it or lace bustier for a night out. Keep the shoes minimal like a pair of flat sling backs or mules for the day and ankle straps for the night. Come winter, this will be a layering piece you will not want to leave your house without.

Now, go get your slip on and tell me if you could sleep in it!

Love,

Karabi.
